The Umoja Community Education Foundation annually hosts the Regional Symposium, a transformative event held in both the Northern and Southern regions of California during the spring semester in April. Specifically designed to serve our 73 affiliate programs, the symposium serves as a dynamic platform for collaborative learning and growth. Each regional event encompasses a rich array of activities, including workshop sessions, engagement with four-year universities, connection to the African Diaspora, cross-regional support, and alliance building. Moreover, the symposium aligns with the elements of the UCEF Memo of Understanding (MOU), offering targeted training and development sessions to identify Umoja Practitioners and acknowledge students' contributions to establishing thriving Umoja programs.

Logistics:

  • Location: UCI Student Center
  • All attendees must register in advance for the event.

UCI Parking Information

UCI is hosting parking for the 2024 Umoja Regional Symposium, but all guests must register their vehicle for a permit while on campus. Please also allow yourself plenty of time to arrive and park given the increase in traffic to our parking structure. To reserve your complimentary permit, please use the link and information below and register your vehicle:

For the event, please park in the UCI Student Center Parking Structure:

112 Pereira Dr University of California, Irvine, CA 92697
